Eveleen Buckton RA, RBE
1872 - 1962
Eveleen was born in Haslemere, Surrey.
From 1890-1902 she studied art, firstly studying painting at The Slade and then etching at the College of Art, under Sir Frank
Short.
Between 1917-1959, she exhibited regularly, both at the new English Art Club and the Royal Academy, initially showing
sculptures of statuettes and busts, then from the mid 1920's, showing etchings of landscape subjects. She was elected an
Associate of Royal Engravers in 1937.
She left a collection of her works to the British Museum on her death in 1962.
