Thomas Miles Richardson jnr
1813 - 1890
The son of a Newcastle landscape painter of the same name. He was trained by his father and became more successful than
him.
He first exhibited at the age of 14. By the 1830's he was sending his work to the Royal Academy where he was achieving
commercial success.
In 1851, he became a full member of the Old Watercolour Society and from then until his death, in 1890, he took part in every
summer and winter exhibition of the Society.
Many of his watercolours are today in the collection of the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle while several others are in the Victoria
and Albert Museum, London.
