John Syer

A painter of landscapes and the father of John jnr and James, also artists.
He studied as a miniaturist in Bristol. He was later influenced by the work of David Cox and painted landscapes and coastal
scenes, often with figures, in Devon and also in Wales.
He exhibited at The Royal Academy from 1846-1875.
