Cuthbert Rigby (1850-1935) was born in Liverpool.
At the age of 15 years he was apprentised to an architect but became a professional artist at around 1872.
He moved to Kendal in the Lake District but later settled in Ambleside where he stayed until his death.
He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery. He was an Associate Member of the Royal Watercolour
Society and also the Founder Member of the Lake Artists Society.
