There are many sources of information and advice about collecting art, describing what you should and shouldn't do.

My advice is simple:
Collecting art is a matter of personal taste. If you want a painting, sculpture or a ceramic, you love it and can afford it, then collect it and enjoy it. There are many other people like you who appreciate fine art. For me, when I find something special, it feels like Christmas morning. I love collecting.

However, if you are thinking of buying art as an investment, approach with caution. Remember, as an investment, a work of art is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay . . .

Collecting is an art. Art is for collecting. Christmas Day needn't come just once a year. Surprise yourself!
